May 31, 1939 — December 29, 2020

ZACCAGNINO - Ronald S., of Williamsville, New York; entered into eternal rest at the age of 81, on Tuesday, December 29, 2020. He was born May 31, 1939 to the late Victor and Nora and his spirit is carried on by his two daughters, Victoria Rogers (Robert) of Amherst, New York and Nicole Reinhardt (Michael) of Raleigh, North Carolina, and the great joys of his life, his three grandchildren, Addison, Colin and Owen. Ronald is also survived by his three loving brothers, Norman (Grace), Victor and Douglas (JoEtte) and his loving sister, Noreen. Ron grew up on Humboldt Parkway in Buffalo, New York, where he graduated from Emerson High School, specializing in baking. He spent summers in Angola at his grandparents home creating fond memories of mischief with his siblings and cousins. He loved to recall the aroma of his grandmothers fresh bread coming out of the oven when they arrived. After joining the Army Reserves, he received his formal training at Fort Knox in Kentucky. Inspired by his time in the military, he decided to become a police officer with the New York Central Railroad. He worked in many different divisions for over 10 years. Ron had a knack for sales, so he changed career paths to manage a Singer Sewing Center in Niagara Falls. It was during this time, that he began working part time in real estate and realized his calling. He joined Stovroff & Herman Realtors and his lifelong career in real estate began. After only a few years selling residential properties, Ron discovered commercial real estate was his true passion and excelled at his craft. He worked with many diverse companies such as Hunt Real Estate, Bella Vista, Loblaws, Jittney Jungle, Peter J. Schmitt and Delta Sonic. In 1988, Ron decided to open his own RE/MAX office. Being a broker/owner allowed his true entrepreneurial spirit to shine and brought him great fulfillment. He cared deeply for all his clients, agents, and associates. Over the years, Ron received many industry awards and accolades. He enjoyed his time serving the Buffalo Niagara Association of Realtors (BNAR) on a variety of committees and as Vice President in 2010-2011. He was particularly proud of being selected by the BNAR as Realtor of the Year in 2014. Ron was granted the status of Realtor Emeritus by the National Association of Realtors, recognizing his 40 plus years of service in the real estate industry. He retired in 2019 on his 80th birthday. Ron married in 1964 and was the father of two daughters, Victoria and Nicole. He was proud of the women they became, and he considered their husbands, Robert and Michael, as sons of his own. His three grandchildren brought him much happiness. Addison, Colin and Owen always brought a smile to his face. His family is heartbroken with his passing, but finds great comfort knowing they now have a guardian angel. In the late 1970s, Ron received a calling to become more active within the Catholic Church. He obtained training as a deacon, went on a mission trip to Mexico and grew in his spirituality. He was an active member of the Newman Center at UB North. His favorite annual activities were the St. Josephs Day Dinner and Chicken Bar-B-que. While serving on these committees, he enjoyed the company of many friends. He was trained as a Pastoral Care Provider at Buffalo General Hospital and dedicated several years helping patients obtain the greatest possible degree of spiritual support. Ron was an avid football fan and cheered the loudest for the Buffalo Bills & UB Bulls. Today, he has the best seat in the stadium. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, January 5th from 10am-12pm at Lombardo Funeral Home, 885 Niagara Falls Boulevard, Amherst, New York. Service immediately following at 12pm. In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting donations be made to UB Newman Center North located at 495 Skinnersville Road, Buffalo, NY 14228 or online by clicking the tribute link above, for the UB Newman Center North Donation Page.
