Angela Marie Martinelli

Some people leave an imprint on your heart that can never be replaced. Angela Marie Martinelli was one of those people. She was the heart of her family-a loving mother, grandmother, sister, daughter, aunt, and friend whose strength, generosity, and unconditional love touched the lives of everyone who knew her. She loved deeply, gave endlessly, and found her greatest happiness in caring for those she loved.

Angela Marie Martinelli, 64, of Tonawanda, New York, passed away peacefully on August 3, 2026 surrounded by the love of her family.

Born on March 21, 1962, in Buffalo, New York, Angela was raised in Buffalo before making her home in Tonawanda. She dedicated 23 years of service to the Sweet Home Central School District, where she was known for her dedication, strong work ethic, and the lasting friendships she built throughout the years.

Angela was a woman with a strong personality, a generous heart, and an unforgettable spirit. She was someone who spoke her mind, loved deeply, and was fiercely devoted to the people she cared about. She loved spending time with her family, especially when everyone gathered around the table to enjoy her homemade sauce. Nothing made her happier than having her family together, sharing Sunday dinners, laughing, telling stories, and making memories that would last a lifetime. She also enjoyed shopping, trips to the casino, and peaceful walks through Delaware Park. Whether she was sharing a meal, enjoying the outdoors, or simply spending time with the people she loved most, Angela found joy in life's simple moments.

Family was the center of Angela's world and the greatest blessing of her life. She shared an incredibly close and unbreakable bond with her brother and two sisters. They were more than siblings-they were lifelong friends who celebrated life's happiest moments together, leaned on one another through every challenge, and created countless memories filled with laughter, love, and unwavering support. During Angela's illness, her sisters lovingly became two of her greatest caregivers, standing faithfully by her side with endless compassion, strength, and selfless devotion. Their love and care brought Angela comfort and peace, and the bond they shared was a true testament to the extraordinary closeness of their family.

Angela also shared an extraordinary bond with her Aunt Patricia Morreale, who loved and cared for Angela as though she were her own daughter. Patty's unwavering compassion, strength, and devotion brought Angela comfort, dignity, and unconditional love, and her family will always be deeply grateful for the extraordinary care she gave.

Above all else, Angela's heart belonged to her children. Being their mother was the greatest privilege of her life, and they were her greatest pride, greatest joy, and life's greatest purpose. She loved each of them with every part of her heart and devoted herself to making sure they always knew they were deeply loved. Through every celebration, every challenge, and every milestone, she was their biggest supporter, fiercest protector, trusted confidante, and safe place. No matter how old they became, they would always be her babies. The bond they shared was rooted in unconditional love, unwavering loyalty, and a lifetime of cherished memories that will live on forever.

Becoming a grandmother was one of Angela's greatest blessings. Her grandchildren were the light of her life, and she treasured every hug, every laugh, every milestone, and every moment she was blessed to spend with them. They filled her heart with immeasurable joy, and she adored each of them beyond words. Her grandchildren will forever carry with them her love, kindness, warmth, and the beautiful example she set every day.

Angela is survived by her loving partner, Jim Menard; her children, Ashley Martinelli (Michael Thompson), Frank (Kayleigh) Martinelli, and Krista (Donald) Hangartner; her cherished grandchildren, Gino Thompson, Samantha Thompson, Vincenzo Hangartner, Sophia Hangartner, and Francesca Martinelli; her father, Angelo Martinelli (Margaret Christopher); her brother, Mark (Sharee) Martinelli; her sisters, AnnMarie (Joseph) Bella and Jodeane Didio (Robert Mathewson); along with many beloved nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family members, and dear friends who will forever cherish her memory.

Angela was preceded in death by her beloved mother, Joanne Martinelli.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday morning, August 8th, 2026 in Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 5337 Genesee St. Bowmansville, NY 14026 at 9:30 o'clock. Please assemble at church. Entombment to follow in Holy Sepulchre Cemetery. Arrangements by LOMBARDO FUNERAL HOME (Northtowns Chapel).

The family would like to extend their heartfelt gratitude to the incredible staff at Roswell Park Comprehensive Cancer Center and Hospice for the compassionate care, comfort, and dignity they provided throughout Angela's journey. We are also forever grateful to her sisters, Aunt Patricia Morreale, and everyone who surrounded Angela with endless love, compassion, and unwavering support. Their selfless care allowed Angela to be surrounded by the people she loved most, a gift our family will cherish forever.

Angela's strength, laughter, kindness, and unwavering devotion to her family will forever be remembered. Although our hearts are broken, we find comfort in the countless memories she gave us, the lessons she taught us, and the unconditional love she shared so freely. Her legacy lives on in the family she loved beyond measure and in every life she touched with her generous heart.

Mom, Grandma, Sister, Aunt, and Friend-thank you for loving us so completely. You were our home, our safe place, our greatest blessing, and the heart of our family. We will miss you every day, love you always, and carry you with us until we meet again.
