Angellette Evans Jackson

December 17, 1951 — February 12, 2025

Angellette Evans Jackson (Angie/Nette) was born on December 17, 1951 to the late Doris M. McGee and the late Aaron Evans Sr. Angie was one of 10 children, 6 sisters and 3 brothers.

In the late 1960's Angie attended East High School where she would meet William J. Cooper and they together would birth Dawn M. Cooper (Washington).

Angie being a teenage mother was determined to complete her education, she would work during the day and attend school at night ultimately graduating from Bennett High School in 1971.

In 1971 Angie was employed at Empire News. During her employment Angie would meet the love of her life, the late Walter Jackson Sr. (husband). In 1975 they gave birth to Walter Jackson III, and in 1982 gave birth to daughter Shayla Jackson (Wooden). Angie and Walter later married in 2001 and would spend a total of 53 years together.

Angie was a jack of all trades, she held various jobs in several different fields, most times working 2-3 jobs at a time. She worked in manufacturing companies, fast food industries, as administrative assistance, as a cashier and lastly as a Buffalo Board of Education Bus Aide for children with Special Needs where she would retire after 25 years.

Angie had a love for children, and helping them with early childhood development. Angie had a nurturing spirit, she loved family and she loved to help others, so much so that she would help someone else before she helped herself. A truly selfless women. She also enjoyed watching old westerns, thrifting, music, reading, orange soda, maple walnut ice cream, and walks around Delaware Park. Angie was adventurous and always found interest in different things. she would always keep herself busy.


Angie leaves behind to mourn: Three Children: Daughters, Dawn M. Washington (William), Shayla N.Jackson Wooden(Alton), & Son, Walter Jackson III

5 step-children Larry Jackson, Ronald Jackson, Renee Jackson, Shawn Jackson, Anthony Jackson

10 Grand Children: William Patrick Washington Jr.(Taylor), Isaiah Washington, Miriam Washington, Emmanuel Washington, Johnathan Washington, Julian Washington, Darius Hall Jr., Eric Jackson, Nevaeh Jackson.

8 Great-Grandchildren: Liam Washington, Ezekiel Washington, Kingston Washington, Tyson Washington, Rhiley Hall, Rahlani Hall, Isla Washington, Malik Washington

4 living siblings: Vivian Whitehead, Shirley Evans(Elijah), Joyce Elliott, and brother Darryl Parker(Lena)

Angie was proceeded in death by: Mother Doris M. Mcgee, Father Aaron Evans Sr., Husband Walter Jackson Sr. Siblings: Diane Officer, Aaron Marvin Evans Jr, James Allen Evans, Carolyn Crouch, & Brenda Davis

Angie leaves behind a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, step-grands and two special friends Sheila & Lippy


Relatives and friends may visit Zion Missionary Baptist Church, 179 E. Ferry St. Buffalo on Thursday, February 20 from 10-11am. A funeral service will immediately follow at 11am.
