Anthony F. Corral

CORRAL - Anthony F. Of Lackawanna, entered into rest October 4, 2022 at the age of 96. Beloved husband of the late Rosemary (nee Kushan) Corral; loving son of the late Frank and Jacoba Corral; devoted father of Jacqueline Corral, Christine Corral, Paula (Patrick) Britzzalaro, Greg (Karen) Corral, David (Karen) Corral, and the late Michelle A. Corral; cherished grandfather of 12 grandchildren and eight great grandchildren; dear brother of Pilar (late Bill) Carey and the late Neaves (late Donald) Holmwood; also survived by seven nephews and one niece. Relatives and friends may visit the LOMBARDO FUNERAL HOME (Southtowns Chapel) 3060 Abbott Rd., near Lake Ave., on Monday (October 10) from 3-7 PM, where a Funeral Service will be held on Tuesday morning at 9 AM. Interment Holy Cross Cemetery. Anthony was a WWII veteran in the U.S. Army, receiving a Victory Medal. He was also a member of the American Legion Post 1477, a founding member of Steel City Conservation Club (The Farm), and taught at University at Buffalo and Lancaster High School in Physical Education and Health Sciences. He was assistant director for the Lackawanna Parks and Recreation Department, contributing Sports Columnist for the Lackawanna Front Page and the Lackawanna Leader newspapers. Anthony was an avid fisherman, wildlife conservationist, advocate and consultant. Always take a child fishing.
