Anthony J. Saletta

Anthony Joseph “Tony” Saletta, 97, May 16, 1928 – August 31, 2025. Loving husband of Josephine (nee Oddo) for more than 70 years, father of Rosanne Saletta (John) Ciccia of Texas, Joseph (Lisa) Saletta, Maria Saletta, and Anthony (Debra) Saletta. Proud grandfather of Maria Ciccia (Carl) Renner of Texas, Sarah Ciccia of San Francisco, Christina Hoover, Joseph (Faith) Saletta, Gina Saletta (Aaron) Metzger, Melissa Saletta and John J Ciccia III (deceased), great grandfather to Thomas Anthony, Rachel and Sophia Renner, and Savannah and Gianna Rutland.

He worked for the City of Buffalo as a welder for more than 45 years and retired just before his 90th birthday! In his later life, he discovered the joy of traveling cross country and visited California and Texas many times. He especially enjoyed visiting Painted Desert and Petrified Forest in Arizona. He loved Crystal beach with all his buddies, and his martinis, was a bowler, duck hunter, gardener, self-proclaimed chef, lover of HOT sauce and the New York Yankees and enjoyed attending his grandchildren’s events. Like Jack Benny, he was perpetually 39, until he turned 90, then admitted he was 40! Anthony was a veteran of the US Army during the early 1950s.

A Mass of Christian burial will be held on Saturday, October 4 at 10:00 AM at Blessed Sacrament Church on Delaware Ave, Buffalo. Condolences may be made on this page.
