Arnold B. Schmit

SCHMIT - Arnold B. Of Williamsville, NY, entered into rest March 24, 2017, at the age of 87, beloved husband of the late Dorothy (Gray) Schmit; father of Patricia Yeary, Curtis (Julie) Schmit and the late Craig Schmit; grandfather of Megan (Jamie) Edwards, Kyle Hagan, Annie, Griffin and Tanner Schmit; great-grandfather of Aengus and Adelia Edwards; brother of the late Frank Schmit; uncle to several nieces and nephews. Born in Buffalo, Mr. Schmit graduated from Bennett High School and the University of Buffalo. Upon graduation, he was hired by Cornell Aeronautical Laboratory, which later became Calspan Corporation, where he spent his entire career. He was a Senior Contracts Administrator. Mr. Schmit enjoyed fishing and skiing, and was a founding member of Glenwood Acres Ski Club in Colden, NY. He was an avid reader and assisted his dear friend Frank Baginski in organizing Current Events Groups at local senior citizen centers. Private burial in Williamsville Cemetery.
