Barbara L. Brumpton

BRUMPTON - Barbara Lucy (nee Connelly) Age 84, of Kenmore passed away on Monday, August 22, 2022 after a brief illness. Barbara was born July 2, 1938, in Buffalo, New York, the daughter of the late Dorothy and Edmund Connelly. Barbara was a woman who influenced hundreds of students over the course of her teaching career. She was a worldwide educator, teaching children in England, Australia, and America. She truly loved teaching and often told stories of her days in the classroom and the indelible students that she fondly remembered. After graduating from DYouville College, Barbara embarked on a trip to the other side of the world to teach in Australia. There, she met and married Doug, moved back to England, and started her family. In the early seventies, Barbara and Doug moved back to America with their daughters Mary and Elizabeth. She taught for years at Blessed Sacrament School in Kenmore and retired from teaching from Our Lady of Czestochowa in North Tonawanda. Barbaras biggest accomplishment was being a grandmother to Lily and Charlotte. It was her greatest joy to care for them and gave her a renewed sense of purpose to see them grow and flourish. It has been an ongoing blessing to have Barbara and Doug care for the girls, with many wonderful memories of road trips, sleepovers, and celebrations. Grandma was Barbaras greatest role and she was realty good at it. She will be deeply missed by all, but especially by Lily and Charlotte, the lights of her life. Barbara was predeceased by her daughter Mary, now reunited along with other family and friends who have gone on before her. She is survived by her loving husband, Douglas R. Brumpton; her daughter, Elizabeth (Michael); and granddaughters, Lily and Charlotte. Relatives and friends may visit the LOMBARDO FUNERAL HOME (Snyder Chapel), 4614 Main St., near Harlem, Snyder, NY on Thursday from 4-8 PM. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Friday morning in St. Timothys Church, 565 E Park Dr., Tonawanda, NY 14150 at 11 oclock. Please assemble at the Church. Interment in Mt. Olivet Cemetery.
