Becky Jo Siuta, age 48, of Orchard Park, NY passed away after a two year battle with colorectal cancer on January 24, 2025.
Becky was born on August 14, 1976 to Valerie and Scott Stadelmeyer in Zillah, Washington. After graduating from Zillah High School in 1994, she was recruited by Hilbert College in Hamburg, NY to play both volleyball and softball while pursuing her Bachelor of Science degree in Criminal Justice. She graduated with this degree in May 1999.
She decided to take this degree in a different direction and dedicate her life to human services by working as a Family Specialist at Hopevale, Inc., just down the street from her alma mater, Hilbert College. As she continued to work with children and adolescents as a vital case manager at Hopevale’s day treatment facility, it would be six years later there that she met her husband, Chris, in February 2006.
Becky and Chris stepped off a Celebrity Cruise ship to get married on Smathers Beach, Key West on November 14, 2006.
She took off some years from work to care for her daughters, Gianna and Elizabeth, during the pivotal years of childhood, but in 2014, she went back to work at Evergreen Health Services in Buffalo, NY as a Medical Case Manager. She was promoted to her last position of Medical Case Manager Coordinator, supervising the department and guiding her employees to better serve their patients in the community. Becky loved her job, had close relationships with her co-workers, and always exemplified a strong work ethic that was second to none.
Becky decided to take this passion to the next level by attending Hilbert College once again to pursue her Master of Public Administration degree. She completed this education in May of 2022 and was excited to continue her career work in the human services field, only to get diagnosed with cancer in January 2023. Although devastated, she never complained nor wavered in the decision to complete her goal of learning cutting-edge strategies to continue to guide the individuals she worked with.
Becky raised her Black labrador, Brooklyn, for 11 years, along with her Pomapoo, Bronx, and Jack-Chi, Queenie. Bronx and Queenie protected their mother right up until the end and never left her side.
Becky loved her game nights with the family including her all-time favorite, Clue, Bananagrams, Scrabble, any card game that would bring laughter to her family, and years ago, started a Wordle group that would bring family and friends together daily to compete for word puzzle domination.
She loved birthdays, holidays, and family gatherings. However, nothing came close to Halloween which always began on September 1st every year where her home transformed into Siuta’s Haunted House of Horror. That started off two months of Halloween fun, with yearly trips to Becker Farms, Frightworld, and the Ellicottville Haunted Hayride and Wooden Maze. Although great spooky fun, nothing was more important to her than enjoying her own haunted house, sipping a glass of red wine, and playing some Halloween-themed games with the family she adored.
Becky loved all country music, but Janis Joplin, The Who, Led Zeppelin and The Eagles would never be turned off by a member of the family for fear of retribution. These artists reminded her of home and more specifically, mornings she shared with her father, Scott, when she was a young child.
She enjoyed hobbies such as woodworking, planting flowers, running in competitive races (with the Tough Mudder race in 2016 as her ultimate conquest), and wine tasting in the Finger Lakes with her husband, where family and friends always were intrigued by the fact that the couple owned far too many wine club memberships from the wineries in that region.
A person like Becky only comes along once in a lifetime. Although she will be missed deeply, her final wish was for those close to her to live, not just survive, and remember her through the wonderful memories that were shared together.
Becky is survived by her husband, Chris, her daughters, Gianna and Elizabeth, mother, Valerie, sister, Billie Jo, brother, Kirk, best friend and soul mate, Denise, mother-in-law, Teresa, and several close aunts, uncles, cousins, and close friends.
A Private Celebration of Life for Becky will be held.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Hospice & Palliative Care Buffalo, whom Becky held in extremely high regard for the care that they showed her entire family at the end of her life.
