(nee Rucinski) Of Buffalo, entered into rest August 14, 2010, at age 90, after a brief illness. Bertha spent a lifetime tending to the needs of the homeless. She was a devoted advocate for Buffalo's City Mission, spending many years delivering Thanksgiving and New Year's dinners to the local needy. She was also a charter member of the Matthew Glab American Legion Post, DAV Auxiliary and retired employee of Millard Fillmore Gates Hospital. Bertha was the beloved wife of the late Henry C. Barnas; devoted mother of Antoinette (Gordon) Hessel, Henry A. (Bernice) Barnas, Louis (Marianne) Barnas and the late Alexander Barnas; cherished grandmother of Sheryl (Nicholas) Damiano, Stephanie (Michael) DiGiovanni, Scott Kramer, Stacey (Mel) Mitchell, Sandra DeGroat, Shawn (Heather) Kramer, Kimberly (Wayne) Ramsey, Michelle (Michael) Mijangos, Monica (Dale) Smith, Jennifer Barnas, Lindsay Barnas and Kara Barnas; fond great-grandmother of 16 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren; loving daughter of the late Alexander and Anna (nee Markut) Rucinski; dear sister of Gene (late Chester) Barnas; fond aunt of Daniel Barnas, Jacqueline Zizzi and Janet Barnas; also survived by relatives and many friends.
