Bonnie L.
Marzolf
Nov 9, 1944 — Jul 19, 2026
LACKAWANNA, NY - Bonnie L. "BonBon" Marzolf (nee Newell), a woman of immense warmth, dedication, and joy, entered into rest peacefully at her home on July 19, 2026.
Born on November 9, 1944, Bonnie was the loving daughter of the late Theodore and Helen Newell. For 60 years, she was the beloved wife of Gary Marzolf Sr., building a legacy of commitment and family that will endure for generations.
Bonnie was known for her strong work ethic and took great pride in her long, dedicated service as a proud Teamster. A woman of deep and enduring faith, she was a devoted Christian who dedicated many years of selfless service to her church community. Upon her well-deserved retirement, she traded her hard work for the fairways, developing an avid love for the game of golf and spending many happy hours on the greens.
Above all, Bonnie was the epitome of a devoted mother to her children, Kim (KC) Cool, Gary Marzolf Jr., and Carrie Brna. She poured her heart into her family, later finding endless joy as the cherished grandmother of Jennifer (Hassan) Abdel-Moneim, Krista (Johnnie) Bukur, and Leah Fields, and as the adoring great-grandmother of Bradly Bukur and Ayden Abdel-Moneim. She is survived by her dear twin brother, Bobby (Donna) Newell, brother-in law Jack (Darlene) Marzolf, and reunited in peace with her late brother, Billy (late Kay) Newell and sisters in laws Shirley (late Gary) Knight, Sharon (Rick) Dean.
"BonBon" will also be deeply missed and fondly remembered by her many nieces, nephews, and a lifelong circle of cherished friends from the South Park High School Class of '62.
In accordance with Bonnie's wishes, there will be no prior visitation. A Celebration of Life honoring her vibrant spirit and legacy will be held at a later date. Arrangements are under the care of LOMBARDO FUNERAL HOME. Online condolences and shared memories may be lovingly left for the family at lombardofuneralhome.com.
