Carolyn Girone

CAROLYN G. "NANA" GIRONE, age 77, passed away on January 10, 2026, in Pendleton, New York. Born on August 18, 1948, in Buffalo, New York, Carolyn lived a life marked by love for her family, a spirited personality, and a deep affection for animals.

Known affectionately as "Nana," Carolyn embraced her role within the family with warmth and individuality. She often declared with pride, "I am not your average Nana," a phrase that perfectly captured her vibrant and unpredictable spirit.

Carolyn is remembered by her daughter Lisa-Marie DiPirro and son-in-law Jeffrey; her sister Elaine Krieger and brother-in-law Earl; her grandchildren David Baumann (Victoria), Justin Baumann (Meg), Adam Baumann (Katie), Austin Baumann (Robert), Jessica DiPirro (Ryan), and Andrew DiPirro (Sara); and her great-granddaughter Mia Baumann.

She was preceded in death by her parents Michael and Shirley Girone. Grandparents Fred and Julia Christian.

Carolyn had a passion for animals that was evident throughout her life. Whether caring for pets or simply enjoying their company, she found comfort and companionship in their presence. She also enjoyed the thrill of bingo and trips to the casino-pastimes that reflected both her fun-loving nature and spontaneous spirit.

A memorial celebration to honor Carolyn's life will be held at LOMBARDO FUNERAL HOME, 885 Niagara Falls Blvd, Amherst NY 14226, on January 14, 2026, from 4pm-7pm, where a prayer service will immediately follow.

In lieu of flowers the family requests memorial donations to be made to Niagara Hospice, Inc, 4675 Sunset Drive Lockport NY 14094.
