Cathy Winters Barber Ostrander, born April 19, 1951, in Buffalo, New York, passed peacefully into the presence of her Savior on August 11, 2026. Her life was shaped by deep faith, enduring love, creativity, and devotion to the family she treasured above all else.

Cathy was the cherished daughter of the late Roland "Tex" and Jeanette Winters, with whom she is now reunited in eternal rest. She leaves behind her devoted husband, Paul Ostrander, whom she married on April 9, 1989, in Williamsville, New York. Their 37 years of marriage reflected a lasting bond of love, companionship, and commitment through all of life's seasons.

Cathy was a loving mother to Dennis (Mary) Barber, Christopher (Genelle Allen) Barber, Jeremy Ostrander, and Kristi (Doug) Allee. Among her greatest blessings were her seven grandchildren: Rhiannon Barber, Benjamin Barber, Elijah Ostrander, Aiden Ostrander, Lauren Ostrander, Isabelle Allee, and Josiah Allee. She loved them dearly and took great joy in the memories they created together.

She is also survived by her beloved sisters, Dawn (Tom) Young, Nancy Dennis (the late Earl), and Sally Busekist, along with many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, and other family members who shared in her life and loved her deeply.

Cathy graduated from Clarence High School in 1969, then went on to study cosmetology. For approximately 35 years, she shared her talent and creativity in hair salons throughout the Buffalo area. More than a profession, her work gave her the opportunity to connect with people, brighten their days, and help them feel cared for.

Creative at heart, Cathy found great joy in memory scrapbooking and photography. She had a gift for preserving life's special moments-the celebrations, familiar faces, and ordinary days that become treasured memories with the passing of time. She also loved gardening, and her beautiful flowers were featured in the local Garden Walk, where her colorful blooms brought happiness to neighbors and visitors alike.

Cathy loved to laugh and delighted in social gatherings, good conversation, and preparing healthy foods for those she loved. Her warmth made people feel welcome, and her joyful spirit brought light to the lives around her. Yet nothing meant more to Cathy than her family, especially her grandchildren. Time spent with them was among her life's greatest joys.

Above all, Cathy loved her Savior, Jesus Christ. Her faith was not simply something she spoke about; it was woven throughout the way she lived and as a member of the Amherst Baptist Church. She continually sought fellowship with Him, and her love, kindness, and steadfast faith touched the hearts of those who knew her. Her family finds comfort in knowing that she is now at peace in the presence of the Lord she faithfully loved.

A celebration of Cathy's life will be held for family and friends on Saturday, August 22, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. at Clarence Center United Methodist Church, 9750 Clarence Center Road, Clarence Center, New York 14032.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Alzheimer's Association , Western New York Chapter.

Though Cathy will be deeply missed, the love she gave, the faith she shared, the beauty she created, and the memories she so carefully preserved will remain. Her spirit will live on in the hearts of all who were blessed to know and love her.
