Charles J. Delahanty

Delahanty, Charles J. of West Seneca, went peacefully to heaven on March 5, 2024. Devoted and loving husband of 52 years to Sharon (nee Gembolys) Delahanty. Sharon was the love of his life and his best friend. They were an inseparable couple throughout all those years. They loved traveling, dining out with their many friends and taking walks on the waterfront. He was the loving son of the late Hugh and Dorothy Delahanty and the brother of the late Eileen Delahanty. Charlie is also survived by many cousins and good friends. He was the best husband, son, brother and friend anyone could have asked for. Using the GI Bill, he enrolled and graduated from Canisius College. Charlie was a decorated Veteran who deployed four times oversees, while serving 6 years in the US Navy and Navy Reserves during the Vietnam War Era. He was a member of the American Legion Post 735 in West Seneca and a lifetime member of AMVETS. He retired in 2009, as the Director of Payment Services with Western Union, after 25 years. In Charlies honor, donations may be made to the charity of your choice. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at Our Lady of the Sacred Heart Church, 3148 Abbott Rd., Orchard Park on Saturday, June 22nd, at 11 oclock.
