Christine M. DiVincenzo of Corfu, NY December 14, 1944 August 8, 2023 Christine DiVincenzo (nee Kosieracki) went home to her loving Savior, Jesus Christ, on August 8, 2023. She is more alive now than ever before, enjoying her heavenly, glorious home along with her mom, dad, step-dad, son and so many family and friends. Shes likely already had a great conversation with Moses about walking through dry ground amid a treacherous sea! Christine entered the world with flair, born amid a December 14, 1944 snowstorm that left everyone scrambling. And that is how she lived life with flair! Christines greatest joy was in raising her "Sweepea" daughter Kimberly "Kimber"! Their bond throughout their lives was a true gift from God. After a brief marriage, this single mom was a living example of Jesus Christ for her daughter. She demonstrated unconditional and sacrificial love, strength, character, grace, confidence, perseverance, exuberance, laughter, joy and adventure! She lived her life with balance. Regardless of the demands of life and work, she always made her daughter her priority. Christine loved people and impacted lives wherever she went. Her memorable joy-filled smile, sense of Gods grace, and sincere encouraging words touched many hearts. Her warmth and curiosity about people meant she often prayed with and for those shed just met. Christines nurturing spirit had many people calling her "mom" or "Mama D." She was continually thinking of ways to bless someone, to share her love and the love of God. Music filled Christines life from Tchaikovsky, Motown and Elton John to songs of praise to God. She was always singing, and playing "air saxophone" around the room. She was a long-time member of Rochesters Bethel Christian Fellowship, and sang in the Gospel Ensemble in the 1980s; she loved to worship at home and at her church of many years, Resurrection Life Church in Cheektowaga, NY. There she also had great fun joining her daughter in ministering to the 5th and 6th graders. Christine loved travel, gardening, sunrises and sunsets, ocean getaways and the high fashion of the 1950s and 60s. Christine loved her family and truly admired her mom Wanda, step-dad Wally, sister Theresa and brother Paul. She had great joy over her nephews and nieces, cousins, aunts and uncles. Growing up catching butterflies, feeding the animals and playing among lilacs on a farm in Darien, Christines family then moved to Corfu, NY. A 1962 graduate of Pembroke High School, where she twirled baton and played on a division champion field hockey team, this country girl then took on city life, living in Buffalo, NY, Boston, MA, and then Rochester NY. A woman ahead of her time, Christine forged a career that reflected advocacy. She worked first in the Buffalo, NY prominent law firms of Raichle, Moore, Banning and Weiss, as well as Lipsitz, Green, Fahringer, Roll, Schuller and James. Christine then served as staff to the Attica Commission, which shone a light on the need for prison reform. Following, Christine held a 30-year career in Development, making a tremendous impact on the Rochester, NY Community. Christine raised hundreds of millions of dollars in support of education, the arts, children's services, healthcare and local history, working for such organizations as RIT and Keuka College, Geva Theatre Center and Opera Theater of Rochester (now Opera Guild of Rochester), Hillside Childrens Center, St. Joseph's Villa (now Villa of Hope), Easter Seals, Rochester General Hospital, the Landmark Society of WNY and the City of Rochester's Sesquicentennial Celebration.
