Obituary

Clyde Tyson was the youngest of 5 children born to William and Carrie Tyson in Bucks County, PA. In his early teens he embraced the truth of God's Word in which Jesus said, "I am the way, the truth and the life. No man comes to the Father except through me." This decision set the full trajectory for his future. Following high school, while working on his brother's dairy farm by day, he attended four years of night school at Philadelphia Bible Institute. He then pursued his Bachelor's Degree at Wheaton College, Wheaton, Illinois, followed by a Master's Degree at Northern Illinois University, Dekalb, Illinois. He met his life-long love at a Bible camp and conference grounds in Fayetteville, PA, where he directed a Boy's Camp each summer. They were married in 1965, and he happily relocated to Buffalo, NY, where he took a teaching position at Niagara County Community College (now SUNY Niagara). There he was a beloved professor for 30+ years before he retired. A devoted husband, father and "man of God," he served at Camp Li-Lo-Li more than 50 years in many capacities, and served in his local church as a counselor, elder and pastor-teacher. After moving to Park of the Palms Retirement Center, FL, in 2019, Clyde continued to serve the Lord among the community there and as an elder in the church. Clyde is survived by his wife of 60 years, Joanne: 3 sons: Keith (Deborah), Glenn (Beth-Ann) and Craig (Jenna) and 9 grandchildren: Joshua, Claudia, Daniel (Ella), Abigail (Joshua) Baldwin, Zoe, Lucas, Nathan, Anders, and Jonathan.
