MORRISON - David John Born January 4, 1950, aged 71, of Tonawanda, NY, passed away after a long struggle with Parkinsons Disease on January 31, 2021. Dave was a proud father of five, Patrick (Karen) Morrison, Sally (Andrew) Rebl, Candace (Zak Collins) Morrison, Douglas (Heather) Morrison, and Mary Kate Morrison; and a devoted grandfather of seven, Dillinger, Harrison, Theodore, Henry, Molly, Ruth, and Oliver. But, most of all, Dave was an adoring husband to his wife of thirty-eight years, Pamela Morrison (nee Warner). Dave and Pam met by chance in a far corner of Coles in 1981. As Dave told it, the meeting involved a spilled orange juice. Dave and Pam were engaged two short weeks later. Dave was an educator by nature. He taught in the Buffalo Public Schools for most of his career and was a proud member of the Buffalo Teachers Federation. Dave was quick with a sharp remark, a wandering story, or stony silence; all three of which he used with masterful skill. He had a penchant for showing up when least expected, but most needed. In 1996, he received a Certificate of Recognition from Buffalo Mayor Masiello for stopping a purse snatching in a Jubilee parking lot. He is survived by brothers Thomas (Bernadette) Morrison, James (Carol) Morrison, and Daniel (Colleen) Morrison. He is predeceased by his brother Jack Morrison, and his parents John and Laura Morrison. You know how I know theres a God? he would ask, folding open the obituary page, people die in alphabetical order. Services are on hold because of the pandemic, but when it is safe, expect a party; Dave loved a good party. And, as always, bless precious Pam. Go Bills. Arrangements by the LOMBARDO FUNERAL HOME (Northtowns Chapel). No prior visitation. A private committal service will be held at a later date at Elmlawn Cemetery. Donations in Davids memory may be made to Buffalo City Mission or Cornerstone Manor.
