NICKERSON, David A. of Orchard Park, entered into rest August 26, 2023. Beloved husband of 41 years to Debra A. Milley; devoted father of Veronica (Luna) Nickerson; loving son of the late Donald K. W. Nickerson and the late June (late Paul) Martin; dear brother of Nancy (James) Burghard, Judy Larkin, Jeff (late Emma), Jon (Margie), James (Mae), and Jay (Trisa) Nickerson; cherished son-in-law of Willena (late Paul F.) Milley; fond brother-in-law of James, Paul (Patricia), Michael (Kristine) Milley, Carol (Benjamin) Appleton, Donna, and Scott (Wanda) Milley; also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, cousins, family, and friends. Relatives and friends may visit the LOMBARDO FUNERAL HOME (Southtowns Chapel), 3060 Abbott Rd. near Lake Ave. on Friday (September 1st) from 4-8 PM, where Prayers will be held on Saturday at 9:30 AM. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated in St. Bernadette Church, 5930 S Abbott Rd., Orchard Park on Saturday morning at 10:30 oclock. Interment SS. Peter and Paul Cemetery (Hamburg, NY). Dave retired from Moog, Inc., in 2010 after 30 years. He served in the United States Army from September 1969 to June 1971. Dave was an infantry Sargent (SGT) in Bravo Company, 2nd Battalion Airmobile, 506th Infantry Regiment, of the 101st Airborne. He was deployed to the A Su Valley, west of the coastal city of Hu, along the border of Laos, in South Vietnam where he was awarded numerous medals and commendations for his bravery and leadership.
