David Elliott Watkins

Of Java Lake, entered into rest peacefully, on December 21, 2023. Beloved husband of Susan M. (nee Zalsman) Watkins; devoted father of Lewis (Elizabeth) Watkins and Jeannie Watkins; cherished grandfather of Connor and Canyon Watkins; loving son of the late Linden C. and Ruth E. (nee Hillman) Watkins; dear brother of the late Wade Watkins; fond uncle to Brent (Jone) Watkins, Scott (Maria) Watkins, and Derek Watkins; also survived by many relatives and friends and his loving Rottweilers Maggie and Lovie. Mr. Watkins was a six-year Marine and Veteran of the Vietnam War and retired as a Senior Chief from the U.S. Coast Guard in 1986, in Kodiak, AK. Not only was he a devoted family man and loyal friend, he also was very involved at the Veterans Hospital assisting other Veterans with therapy dogs. Mr. Watkins selflessly gave of himself and was a dedicated Christian to the very end. Private services will be held at the convenience of the family.
