Deacon Michael S. 'Mick' Szymanski

Oct. 14, 1949 - Nov. 10, 2023 Of Lackawanna, NY entered into rest while surrounded by loved ones. Beloved husband of Linda (nee: Concialdi), beloved father of Anthony, Geoffrey, & Andrea (Jason) Larracuente, step-father to Melissa Ferguson, brothers Alyn Syms and Stanley (Jackie) Szymanski. Beloved son of the late Stanley and Irene (nee DePasquale), also survived by 3 step-grandchildren, nephew Eric and many cousins, friends and band-mates. Mick was a loving family man, proudly served in the US Air Force & stationed in Upper Heyford - England, drummer for local band Alyn Syms Group (ASG) and many soul bands in the 1960's, an Episcopal deacon, social worker, Lackawanna youth bureau director for 18 years, story-teller, he fought for many social causes and carried a sense of humor that could bring an entire banquet to the floor. Family and friends are invited to attend an Episcopal Christian service followed by entombment in the cathedral columbarium will take place at St. Paul's Cathedral, 139 Pearl St., Buffalo, NY on Thursday, November 16 at 2:00 pm. A celebration of Mick's life will be announced on a later date.
