Delia Maria Berrio Waiters, 74, of Tonawanda, formerly of Panama, entered into rest on June 21, 2025. Devoted wife of the late Allen Waiters; beloved mother of Allen Waiters, Jr.; loving daughter of the late Carlos and Jovina (nee Philips) Berrio; dear sister of Rosa, Maria Elena, Nidia, Mireya, Nereida, Carlos and Aida; also survived by many nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.
She graduated from the University of Panama. Delia worked as a chief of the National ID Card (Cedula) facility of the Tribunal Electoral of Panama. Delia was also an accountant in Panama. After her move to the United States, Delia worked for 26 years as a Teacher’s Assistant in the Buffalo Public Schools.
In her spare time, Delia enjoyed gardening, traveling, walking for hours and spending time with her friends and family. She was very active at St. Luke AME Zion Church. She will be remembered as being very dedicated to her students and also mentored many of the current teachers and administrators.
Relatives and friends may visit Lombardo Funeral Home (Northtowns Chapel), 885 Niagara Falls Blvd. near Eggert/Sheridan Dr. on Wednesday, June 25 from 4-7pm and where a funeral service will immediately follow at 7pm. Condolences may be made on this page.
