Diane Stimmel

Diane Louise Stimmel (D'Addario), age 79, passed away peacefully surrounded by family on January 11, 2026, leaving behind a lifetime of memories, laughter, and stories we'll be telling for years.

She was the kind of woman who loved her children, grandchildren & great grandchildren fiercely, laughed loudly, and always had snacks ready for the Bills game! Diane had a gift for making people feel welcome and loved. Her home was always open, and her love unconditional.

She loved her cat, Gracie, who brought her constant comfort and companionship. She was also known for her endearing habit of calling people by the wrong name, often 'George', a trait that never failed to bring a smile to those who knew her and perfectly reflected her unique sense of humor.

She is survived by Robert Stimmel; her children, Karen Deane, Michelle Stimmel, Franki Chambers (Andrew), and Holly Stimmel; her ten grandchildren; and her eight great grandchildren; all of whom were endlessly proud to call her Mom, Grandma, or Grammie. She was preceded in death by her son James Stimmel; her sisters Sharon Cyran and Diane Pfiel; her father Faust D'Addario; and her mother Louise Waldeck.

While we are heartbroken to say goodbye, we are incredibly grateful for the life she lived and the love she gave. If love could have kept her here forever, she would have lived a thousand lifetimes.

In true Diane, Mom, Grammie fashion, she would want us to remember her with smiles, laughter, and maybe a little mischief. So hug your people, laugh often, and don't forget to enjoy the moment, as she certainly did.

Relatives and friends may visit the LOMBARDO FUNERAL HOME (Northtowns Chapel) 885 Niagara Falls Blvd, Amherst, near Eggert Road, on Thursday (January 15) from 3-7 PM. 

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated, Friday morning at 9:30 AM at St. Amelia's Church, 2999 Eggert Road, Tonawanda.
