Bliss, Donald G. Of Williamsville, joined our heavenly Father on October 30, 2023. Devoted father of Donna (Robert) Bliss Lalka, and Juli (Gerhard) Claassen; Cherished grandfather of Andrew Lalka, Jeffrey (Jessica) Lalka, Kristen Claassen and Jed Claassen; Adored great grandfather of Nora Lalka; Loving son of the late Giles J. and Alice R. Bliss; Dear brother of Janette Hunter and the late Mary Rhodes, Floyd Bliss and Kenneth Bliss. His daughters knew him as their greatest encourager, supportive & understanding confidant, and was always available to them with a listening ear & prayerful heart. His grandchildren knew him for his unending kindness, showering them with gifts, and delight in talking to them. He joyfully taught children music in the Grand Island School District for 30 years. He loved and served God first and foremost and was not only a church Music Director for over 50 years but took every opportunity God gave him to befriend people and build them up with the Good News found in the Word of God, the Holy Bible, the Message of Jesus Christ. He laughed easily and often. Went out to lunch weekly with friends. Never missed meeting with God in church on Sundays & Wednesdays. He lived a full life up until the day he left this world for eternal life in Christ. He will be sorely missed daily by those who had the privilege of calling him Dad, Grandpa, Great Donald, Brother, Friend. But we are all better for our relationship with him and know we will see him again. In accordance with Don's wishes there is no prior visitation. Relatives and friends are invited to gather at St Bartholomew's Anglican Church at 2368 Eggert Rd, Tonawanda, NY 14150 on Tuesday, Nov. 7 at 10:30 AM to celebrate Don's life. In lieu of flowers, Don's desire is for donations to be made to his church.
