Of Amherst, entered into rest December 30, 2012; beloved husband of Diane (nee Gianni) McNicholas; devoted father of Darlene Simonson (Troy Shields), David Simonson, Shawn (Mallory) McNicholas, Robert "BJ" (Rebecca) McNicholas and the late Crystal McNicholas; cherished grandfather of Adam, Julia, Julian and grandchild due in July; loving son of the late Edward and Rita McNicholas; dear brother of Eileen (LaMacchia) and Karen McNicholas; fond brother-in-law of Joanne (Joseph) Testa and Shirley (David) Lenz; also survived by relatives and friends. Donald served in the U.S. Air Force during the Vietnam War.
