MCSWAIN, Donald “Don” passed peacefully on June 24, at the age of 90. Born in Buffalo, NY to the late Charles and Beatrice (nee Hennick) McSwain . Loving husband of the late Linda (nee Devic) McSwain. Don is survived by his devoted daughters, Karen (Mo) McSwain, Maureen (Gary) Ziemba and Molly (Marty) Barrett; loving brother Charles McSwain and the late Nancy Carr; sister-in-law AnnMarie (late James) Pickard, and the late Jack (Ellie) Devic. Also survived by five grandchildren Gaelin, Nicholas, Lauren, Shea, and Carter, two great granddaughters, Sloane and Demi, and many nieces and nephews. Throughout his life, Don lived his faith through quiet acts of kindness, encouragement, and generosity to all those around him. He served both his country and the community. Don was a veteran of the US Army and was employed by the City of Buffalo as a Police Officer for 34 years. From a young age he showed a passion for sports, excelling in basketball and was an avid runner into his late seventies. Don had a great sense of humor and was famous for his one-liners. He enjoyed life to the fullest and will be missed by all who knew him. A mass of Christian Burial will be offered at St. Louis Roman Catholic Church, 35 Edward St., Buffalo on Tuesday, July 1st at 10 AM. Please assemble at the church. Interment to follow at Holy Cross Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Response to Love Center in his memory. The family would like to thank Linda Catone, special friend, as well as the dedicated staff at Mercy Hospital who provided care in his final days. Don will be remembered for the lives he touched through his warmth, his wit, and his unwavering devotion to those he loved. Even though our hearts are broken, we find comfort knowing that he is now at peace and with our Mom. Arrangements by LOMBARDO FUNERAL HOME (Southtowns Chapel).
