Donald C. Phillips

PHILLIPS, Donald C. of Amherst, entered into rest March 15, 2023 at the age of 93. Beloved husband of 65 years to the late Sylvia Ann (nee Ball) Phillips; devoted father of the late Donna JoAnn and the late Pamela Ann (Robert) Fader; cherished grandfather of Matthew (Tatiana) James and Jeffrey James; adored great-grandfather of Mason and Liam; loving son of the late Howard J. and Jessie Phillips; dear brother of Robert James (June) Phillips and the late Marilyn Palmore; also survived by family and friends. No prior visitation. Donald was born in Richmond, Virginia, and at a young age moved with his family to Amherst, New York. He graduated from Amherst High School where he was a star athlete and football player, and where he met his wife Sylvia, the love of his life. He attended Auburn University, after which he moved back to Amherst. After retirement at Kraus-Ball Rendering, he was a longtime volunteer at the Amherst Senior Citizens Center.
