Austria during World War Two, Dorit emigrated to New York City in the early 1960s. She was employed by avant garde composer Lukas Foss, who she accompanied to Buffalo when he became director of the Buffalo Philharmonic. She married her husband Ivo, also a European immigrant, and raised two children before becoming a school bus driver for Frontier Central Schools for many years. Later in life, Dorit spent time with her cherished friends at the Orchard Park senior center, and as a volunteer usher at Shea’s Theater. She will always be remembered for her kind heart and infectious smile. Beloved wife of the late Ivo Mohorovicic; devoted mother of John and Mark Mohorovicic; cherished grandmother of Nikolaus, Madeline, Max and David; also survived by her sister, Hannelore of Oakville, Ontario. No prior visitation. A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date. Arrangements by LOMBARDO FUNERAL HOME (Southtowns Chapel).
