Dorothy Jane Martin

Dorothy J. Martin, 56, of Rome, passed away on October 3, 2023 surrounded by loved ones. Dorothy was born on November 16, 1966 to Robert and Dorothy Drake. She grew up in Rome and graduated from Rome Free Academy in 1984. Dorothy married the love of her life, Charles K. Martin, on May 7, 2011. Dorothy had many accomplishments in her life, none she was prouder of than being a mother. That was until she was promoted to Grandmother and excelled well beyond the standard. Her children firmly fastened their seatbelts in the back seat from that day forward. In addition to being a Grandma, she loved traveling, shopping, more shopping, camping, gardening, apple picking, family parties, Christmas with her family, and dinners with friends. Dorothy is survived by her loving husband: Chuck, Children: Heather (Dave) Allen, Jennifer (Mike) Schmitt, Rick Smith, Robert (Ashley) Harrington, Randy Harrington, Grandchildren: Landon, Drake, Robert, Reagan, Hadley, Haley, Brittany, Hayley, Hunter, Father-in-law and Mother-in-law: Charles and Ada Martin, Sisters: Geraldine, Gladys, Dorene, Kim, As well as many other cherished family and friends. She is predeceased by her parents and sister Donna. Honoring her wishes, no funeral services are planned. In her honor, please spend time with your loved ones, family is what meant most to her.
