Dorothy (Perry-Kamoche) Robinson was a loving and enthusiastic mother of five children, eight grandchildren, and one great grandchild. Dorothy was active in her childrens education and in her church communities throughout her life. Jesus, education, and family were the passions of Dorothy Robinson. She was the heartbeat of the family and a generous philanthropist of the Christian faith. She enjoyed singing, studying, teaching, and traveling with her children and with others. Dorothy loved getting together with family and friends around the country whenever she could. She thoroughly enjoyed taking Disney vacations and cruises and taking long road trips with her adult children. Dorothy was an avid listener and a great friend, she will be greatly missed. Dorothy raised her children in Harbor Walk and Redwood Village in Buffalo, New York with her first husband John Kamoche Sr. After his death in 1993 she raised her children as a single mother. Dorothy enjoyed teaching children everywhere she went. Prior to having children she worked in the food service industry. While her oldest children were in junior high and in high school she went back to work and then went back to school. Dorothy studied Food Service Administration and earned an associate degree from Erie Community College, North Campus. She eventually went on to Buffalo State College and graduated with a bachelors degree in Hospitality Administration and later earned a masters degree in Vocational Technology. With the completion of a masters degree she qualified for a Master of Science in Education by the New York State Education Department. Dorothy taught Food and Nutrition in the Buffalo Public Schools and eventually moved to Maryland and finished up her teaching career teaching culinary arts in Prince Georges County, Maryland. She enjoyed teaching junior high and high school students. She loved giving back to her various church and school communities. Dorothy constantly encouraged those around her to strive for excellence and is known for her kindness, generous spirit, and her love of others. After Dorothy retired from teaching she moved to California and later married Kent Robinson. She leaves behind an amazing legacy of faith and family. She also leaves behind a host of family and friends, a spouse Kent Robinson, nieces, nephews, cousins, sisters (Leitia Perry, Brenda Perry, Isabella Westmoreland), brother (Joseph Perry), five children (John Kamoche Jr., Andrae (Sharifah) Kamoche, Esther (Darren) Kamoche Robinson, Anastasia Kamoche, and Dawn (Priya) Kamoche-Sharavanan, eight grandchildren (Tatiana, Josiah, Emmanuel, Jeremiah, Leiyah, Isabella, Lincoln, and Mia), and one great grandchild (Jace). She was preceded in death by her two brothers Frederick Lee Perry Jr. and Charles E. Perry Sr. and by her parents the late Fred and Mable Perry of Lackawanna, New York. Relatives and friends may visit LOMBARDO FUNERAL HOME (Southtowns Chapel) 3060 Abbott Rd., near Lake Ave. on Wednesday (June 7th) from 10-11 AM, where a Funeral Service will immediately follow.
