Douglas Raymond Brumpton, 80, of Kenmore passed away on Wednesday, February 28, 2024 after a brief illness. Doug was born February 21, 1944, in Newark-on-Trent, England, the son of the late Lilian and Douglas Raymond Brumpton, Sr. Doug moved to Kenmore with his wife Barbara and children Mary and Elizabeth in 1972. He worked for many years at Dunlop Tire in Tonawanda. Over the years, he coached soccer for Cardinal OHara, Mt. St. Marys, and the Park School. Doug had a great sense of humor and was often joking around with everyone in his presence. He loved going to the casino and to his favorite restaurant, Grannys, in Tonawanda. He was a character and everyone that knew him loved him and he loved them back deeply. Doug was most proud of being a Granddad to Lily and Jade. It was one of his greatest joys, along with his wife, Barb, to care for them and watch them grow. It was a blessing to have Doug and Barb care for the girls and they have many memories of road trips, sleepovers, celebrations, restaurant breakfasts, and more. He depended on them in recent years to help him keep track of his lotto numbers and his English Soccer scores for his favorite team, Peterborough United. Doug was predeceased by his wife Barbara and his daughter Mary, now reunited along with other family and friends who have gone on before him. He is survived by his sister, Mary Manna, of Peterborough, England, daughter Elizabeth (Michael), and granddaughters Lily and Jade. He also leaves behind several nephews and a niece: Christian, Jonah, Myles, Adam, and Caitlin. Visitation for Doug will be on Friday, March 1st from 4:00-8:00 PM at Lombardo Funeral Home; 885 Niagara Falls Boulevard. A private burial will follow.
