Obituary

Edward ("Ed") was called home to be with the Lord surrounded by his wife and children on Wednesday, July 15, 2026. Devoted husband of Pat (nee Tarnowski), with whom he shared 52 wonderful years of marriage. Together they built a life centered on faith, family, and unwavering love. He was the cherished father of Julie Jarosz (Jon Bastian) and Kate (Alan) Buckley, and the proud "Bampy" to his grandsons, Cole Edward and Jude. He was preceded in death by his parents, Edward and Mary Jarosz, and his sister, Rosemary VanderHaeghe. He is survived by his fraternal twin brother, Marion Jarosz.

A man of deep faith, Ed was a dedicated parishioner of Our Lady of Victory Basilica for many years. He faithfully served in the parish's music ministry, playing guitar for over 50 years and sharing his love of music.

Ed proudly served his country as a Vietnam veteran in the 14th Combat Engineer Battalion. His commitment to the Association spanned many years, including service as President and, most recently, as Reunion Chairperson. Ed retired from Moog Inc., after 42 years, where he worked as a Senior Product Engineering Technician.

Ed was devoted to his family, and his greatest joy was the love they shared. He showed his love not only through words, but through countless acts of kindness and service. He was happiest when cooking a meal, fixing things around the house, or lending a helping hand to anyone in need. If something was broken, Ed would find a way to repair it. If someone needed help, he was there without hesitation. His generosity, humility, and quiet strength touched everyone who knew him.

Relatives and friends may visit the LOMBARDO FUNERAL HOME (Southtowns Chapel) 3060 Abbott Rd., near Lake Ave. on Friday (July 17) from 4-8PM. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at OLV Basilica at a time to be announced. Interment St. Matthew’s Cemetery.
