(nee Metcalf) Heaton; Loving son of Ernest Clifford and Amy (nee Potter) Heaton; Beloved brother of Penny Aikin; Cherished son-in-law of Joyce (late Grant) Metcalf; Dear brother-in-law of William (Linda), Glenn, and Mark (Angie) Metcalf; Also survived by several loving nieces, nephews, family, and friends.
Gary was best known for his wonderful sense of humor and storytelling. He was always ready with a joke. He loved to make people laugh and could lighten up any situation. He was sought out for his advice and was a man that could do anything.
He was a fantastic salesman and beloved supervisor to everyone that worked with him. He was in the car business for most of his career, but he also designed beautiful residential home additions and was a top seller of antique glass on eBay. Customers would follow him on eBay just to read his descriptions of the items and view his photographs.
His greatest passion was photography. He began taking photographs in high school and continued taking them throughout his life. He was an award-winning photographer.
He also had many other varied hobbies, including: award-winning trap shooter, writing, computer design and building, mechanic, cooking and creating recipes, home design and remodeling. His latest endeavor was learning to play the guitar.
He loved nature, animals and birds.
Above all, Gary was a loving and loyal husband for 46+ years.
