Of Cheektowaga, were married 59 years June 12, 2013, entered into rest suddenly June 11, 2013, the result of an automobile accident. Gene and Marian were very active in their church and their private charitable works. They also enjoyed many social groups and their siblings, children, grandchildren, large extended family and many friends. Gene was a Marine and a New York State Trooper, rising to the rank of Senior Investigator before his retirement in 1989. He served his country and the people of the State of New York proudly. Gene would happily relate stories of his service, often in a humorous and self-deprecating manner. Born Marian Nola, Marian worked as a realtor, a dental secretary, a canvasser as well as a mother and homemaker. She was very successful as evidenced by her many, fiercely loyal, family and friends. Marian was a wonderful cook and enjoyed entertaining family and friends at holidays or any time the opportunity arose. Gene and Marian are survived by Gene's brothers Ronald and Paul and sisters Barbara and Rita, Marian's sister Gloria, children Eugene V. (Gail) Fechter, Catherine (Mike) Wheeler, grandchildren, Joseph, Laura, Michael and Alaina Wheeler and many brothers and sisters-in-law, nieces and nephews.
