Fannie Mae Thedford

Fannie Mae Henderson Thedford was born May 8th, 1938, in Andalusia, Alabama to Willie and Ethel Henderson. Fannie was 1 or 9 children. She was preceded in death by her parents; Siblings; Brothers, Willie, Henry, John, Felton, Philip Henderson and Sister Qumile "Que" Campbell.

The Henderson Family moved to Birmingham, Alabama where Fannie was raised. Fannie graduated from Ullman High School in 1955. During her high school years, Fannie met the love of her life, Thomas James Thedford Sr. resulting in their marriage on July 7th, 1956, and relocated to Buffalo, New York. From this union, they were blessed with 4 children: Cheryl, Daphne, Valerie and Thomas Jr.

Fannie was a devoted wife of 69 years, loving mother and exceptional homemaker. She enjoyed having family over during special occasions and always enjoyed entertaining during the holidays.

Fannie accepted Christ and was baptized at an early age. After relocating to Buffalo, New York, Fannie and Thomas became faithful members of Macedonia Baptist Church, Fannie was a dedicated member of the Gospel Choir.

Fannie was a Licensed Cosmetologist. She had a passion for making all her clients beautiful, pampered and loved. Her ability to listen was a unique trait. After listening, she would give her soft spoken advice.

Fannie's wardrobe was one of a kind, from her fancy hats to her fashionable suits, including her stunning jewelry. You could always count on her making an impressionable fashion statement. Fannie also enjoyed sewing, baking, singing and listening to gospel music.

Fannie departed this life on October 5th, 2025. Fannie will be lovingly remembered by her husband, Thomas James Thedford, Sr.; Son, Thomas J. Thedford Jr. (Arlene); Daughters, Cheryl E. Johnson (David), Daphne L. Harley, and Valerie Thedford; 4 Grand Children, Deon James Thedford, Robert Green, Marcea Mgondah (Christopher), and Veronica Green and 5 Great Grandchildren, Deon T.J. Thedford, Chana Green, Lyric Bomey-Thedford, Robert Green Jr., and Vaniya Mae Carter. She is also survived by brother-in-law Dr. Roosevelt Thedford (Truette) of Georgia, Sister-in-law Alberta Thedford of Alabama. 

Surviving siblings include Michael Henderson (Danielle) of California, Nasarie Riley of Texas, and nephew, Christopher Johnson (Renee) of Texas. 

She also leaves to cherish a host of nieces, nephews, Godchildren and friends.
