Florence M. Blemel

BLEMEL - Florence M. (nee Hills) Of Orchard Park, died on November 1, 2022, at Beechwood Homes in Getzville following years of progressive dementia. Florence Hills was born in Buffalo on July 11, 1931, and later worked as a bank teller at Marine Midland Bank. She met Ron Blemel at a roller rink, and they married in 1955. Florence was a devoted wife and mother who ran the household with the efficiency and attention to detail of a former bank teller. Florence and Ron returned to skating in the late 1970s, and made the Orchard Park Roller Rink a second home for two decades. In retirement, they found a wonderful community at the Orchard Park Senior Center, where Florence poured her joy and energy into line dancing and tap dancing groups that performed at nursing homes in the Buffalo area. Beloved wife of the late Ronald Blemel; devoted mother of Karen Blemel, Dawn (Michael Perry) Granica, and Kevin (Erika Suffern) Blemel; cherished grandmother of Jason, Shari (Anthony), Stacy, Thomas, Eric, Ellery, and the late Shane; adored great-grandmother of Jason Jr., Courtney, Arianna, Aubriella, Eian, Anthony, and Seth; loving daughter of the late George and Mary Hills; dear sibling of the late Kenneth, the late Dorothy (late Fran) Mallaber, and the late Donald; dear family friend David Searight; also survived by loving nieces and nephews.
