Florence Owens

Florence Owens, born on September 9,1932, peacefully left our world on January 11, 2024. She was the beloved daughter of Hattie and Walter Walker and the dear sister of Elizabeth (Robert) Redrick and Frank Walker. Florence was a devoted mother to Sahabia Owens, Cathy Zeigler, and George Zeigler. She leaves behind a legacy of love and warmth in the hearts of her 9 grandchildren - the fruit off of her tree: Kevin Owens (Diana), George Zeigler (Lynda), Damen Dean, Kenya Battles (Kevin), Tasha Barnes (Doug), Ebony Smith (Dan), Deonka Martin (Derek), Kisha and Cache Zeigler; 30 great-grandchildren and 16 great-great-grandchildren. Florence was a proud alumna of Buffalo Public School and went on to build a remarkable career. Her time at the Ford Stamping Plant in Detroit stands as a testament to her dedication and hard work. Returning to Buffalo, she joined LL Berger as a buyer, contributing her expertise and passion to the company. In her leisure, Florence found joy in life's simple pleasures. Fishing brought her moments of tranquility, while playing bingo added a touch of excitement to her days. Her love for dancing reflected her vibrant sprit, and she cherished every moment spent with family in Canada. Florence's passion for teaching shone through as she imparted card-playing skills to her beloved grandchildren. Above all, she treasured the company of her nieces and nephews, sharing laughter and creating lasting memories with them. Florence Owens will be dearly missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her. Her love, laughter, and wisdom will continue to live on in the hearts of those she held dear. She leaves behind a rich tapestry of memories, and her spirit will forever remain a guiding light for her family and friends. May her soul find eternal peace, and may her legacy continue to inspire and uplift those she left behind. Relatives and friends may visit the LOMBARDO FUNERAL HOME (Snyder), 4614 Main Street, Saturday (January 20th) from 11-12 PM, where a Funeral Service will immediately follow.
