RYAN, Francis D. "Don" July 31, 1935 January 12, 2024 Of Cheektowaga, entered into rest January 12, 2024. Beloved husband of Carol (nee Grupp) Ryan; devoted father of Colleen (Kevin) Vanderwalker and Michael (Angelina) Ryan; cherished grandfather of Michael (Elise) Vanderwalker, Danielle (Manuel) Cardona, Mackayla Ryan, Gwendolyn Ryan and the late Justin Vanderwalker; adored great-grandfather of Macy and Violet Vanderwalker; loving son of the late Frank and Dolores Ryan; dear brother of Dolores (late Albert) Colafranceschi, Peggy (late William) Schuh and Robert (Pat) Ryan. Francis was a US AirForce Veteran. He was inducted into the WNY Softball Hall of Fame. He threw out the first pitch at the Cincinnati Reds game honoring him for his 50 year safety record for driving a school bus. Don was retired US Postal Worker. Relatives and friends may visit the LOMBARDO FUNERAL HOME (Snyder Chapel) 4614 Main St., near Harlem Rd. on Friday (January 19) from 4-7PM for a gathering in Francis memory. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at Infant of Prague Church, 921 Cleveland Dr., Cheektowaga on Saturday at 10 oclock. Please assemble at Church. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Francis name to Tunnel of Towers Foundation.
