George J Benay

Benay, George J., of Williamsville, entered into rest March 27, 2021 at the age of 62. George was born in Providence, Rhode Island September 27, 1958, to Bernice and Jacques Benay. He grew up in Snyder NY where he attended Amherst High School. He loved being the top salesman at the locally owned Cobbies and Socialites Shoe Store for many years. He also enjoyed bartending at the Amherst Bowling Lanes. He was an avid skier and ice skater and he had an immense love of travel. He saw so many of the most beautiful cities, towns, mountains and beaches throughout almost the entire US. In his later years, he decided to relocate to Williamsville in order to be closer to his family and friends. George is survived by his beloved sisters, Suzanne Benay and Denise (Richard) Korman, his nephew Samuel Korman and his niece Natalie (Nathanael Goode) Korman, a half-sister Francoise Benay Bentley, her husband Ryan and their two sons Miles and Chase, as well as a step-mother Nancy Benay. George is also survived by many cousins and dear friends. No prior visitation. A Celebration of Life will be celebrated at a later date. Arrangements by the LOMBARDO FUNERAL HOME (Northtowns Chapel).
