March 10, 1966 — October 29, 2023

Gerald Trotter Jr. was born March 10th, 1966 in Buffalo, NY, to parents Norma Brooks and the late Gerald Trotter Sr. He was the oldest of three children. Gerald attended Burgard High School and graduated from North Marian High School in West Virginia. He gave his life to the Lord at an early age of 12 years old. Gerald developed a supreme work ethic, starting in the Mayor Summer Youth Program and becoming the Jr. Manager for McDonalds. Gerald was very inquisitive when it came to technical devices and would often get in trouble for taking apart radios and cutting up the pole of Christmas trees to make nunchucks. As Gerald matured he developed a great talent as a Skilled Tradesmen in the areas of carpentry and roofing, After years of experience, Gerald decided to start his own business and named it Creation Home Improvement. Many people from near and far called upon Gerald to craft, renovate or repair their roofs and homes. Gerald became a Trades Specialist in roofing for The University Of Buffalo and a member of the Roofing Local #74-23. He carried these passions with him throughout his life often sharing his creative talents with friends and family, offering advice on home improvement. It was during this phase of his life that Gerald embodied the journey as a carpenter the way Jesus had done. He spread the gospel to people young and old and truly enjoyed the work he was doing. He began working with Ron and Peg Calandra in their mobile soup kitchen, managing the Hearts For Homeless store and helping to be of service to the homeless and needy community. Geralds work was so deep and vast that much of his work was done privately and anonymously. Gerald also worked for the Royal Rangers boys ministry at Creekside Church. Even became the Shine Leader at the Chapel, leading Childrens Bible Study and many vacation Bible Schools. Gerald was a loyal member of The Fight Club Mens Ministry. He went on numerous missionary trips overseas helping build churches and homes for the less fortunate. Gerald was a bonafied self-taught Theologian and prayer warrior. His unwavering faith and solid foundation in Christ inspired not just his family, but everyone he came in contact with. Whether it was a friendly face or a stranger, Gerald was going to share Gods love with them. He had a heart of gold, a heart of service, and gratitude towards all people. He absolutely adored children of all ages with different backgrounds, helping them to find their way. He fulfilled his lifes purpose ministering all over the city of Buffalo. Gerald was a loving father, son, and brother. He cherished his family deeply and always made time for them despite his demanding schedule. He shared his experiences and wisdom with his only daughter, Jocelyn Marie. He instilled in her a strong sense of responsibility and guided her towards a loving relationship with Christ. He loved, cherished and nurtured her. She was his Life. A phenomenal father and grandfather was what Gerald lived to be. His only granddaughter, Malia Marie, who he absolutely adored, had all the love a grandfather could give plus some. He spent hours reading to her, riding her on the back of his bike, making their unique crosses together, laughing and enjoying special times together.
