Geraldine M. George Of Amherst, entered into rest January 14, 2025. Loving daughter of the late Thomas and Rose (nee Lauricella) George; dear sister of the late Nicholas (Rose Marie) George; devoted aunt of David (Cynthia) George, Lisa (Joseph) Pittari, Mary Beth (Jeffrey Bonk), John (Mary Pat Wiedeman), and Michael George; also survived by many grandnephews, grandnieces, family, and friends. Relatives and friends may visit the LOMBARDO FUNERAL HOME (Northtowns Chapel), 885 Niagara Falls Blvd., near Eggert/Sheridan Dr., Thursday, January 23rd from 4-8 PM. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated in St. Gregory the Great Church, 200 St. Gregory Ct., Williamsville on Friday, January 24th at 10:30 AM, please assemble at Church. Entombment Mt. Olivet Cemetery. Gerry earned her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from D'Youville College and a Master of Science from the State University of New York at Buffalo. She achieved rank of Colonel in the United States Army Reserve, serving over 20 years. Additionally, she worked as a nurse in a variety of settings including at several intensive care and psychiatric facilities and was a long-term employee of Hospital Underwriters Mutual Insurance Company. Gerry loved singing, dancing, listening to music, and spending time with friends and family. She enjoyed numerous activities including traveling, playing golf, and serving as a volunteer reader for the blind with Niagara Frontier Radio Reading Services. She enjoyed spicy food; so much so that she carried with her a personal small bottle of hot sauce for food that needed additional zing. Gerry is lovingly remembered by her family and many friends, especially for her wonderful sense of humor and positive outlook on life. Your browser does not support this video format.
