Gerard T. “Jay” Mazurkiewicz Jr. of Buffalo, NY entered into rest on July 22nd, 2026. Beloved husband of Donna (nee Zynda) Mazurkiewicz; devoted father of Jacob (Keely Wright) and Allison Rose Mazurkiewicz; adored dog dad of Mack; loving son of Gerard and Barbara Mazurkiewicz Sr,; dear brother of Elizabeth Manganaro and the late Christopher Mazurkiewicz; cherished brother in law of Megan Kuebler, Dr. Damian (Robert Muhlnickel) Zynda, Robin (Thomas) Schlifke, and Robert (late Leslie) Zynda; also survived by nieces, nephews, family, and many loving friends and fellow Firefighters. 

Relatives and friends may visit the LOMBARDO FUNERAL HOME (Southtowns Chapel) 3060 Abbott Rd., near Lake Ave. on Friday (7/31) from 2-8PM. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated in Queen of Heaven Church, 4220 Seneca St., West Seneca on Saturday morning at 9 o’clock. Please Assemble at Church.

Jay was a proud member of the East Seneca Fire Company, Berwyn Heights Fire Department, Erie County Fire Instructor, West Seneca Dispatcher, and New York State Fire Special Operations and Technical Rescue Specialist. He was also made an Honorary member of the Buffalo Professional Firefighters, Local 282. He was an avid Buffalo Bills fan and a member of the Loyal Order of the Buffalo Bills Water Buffalo Club. He lived by the phrase and inspired others to always “PRESS ON” even when things got tough.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Jay’s memory to the E.M. Cotter Conservancy, Inc., P.O. Box 247, Bowmansville, NY 14026.
