Gerry T. Mosandel

Gerry (Gary) Mosandel, of Hamburg NY, had a peaceful passing on October 24th 2020. Loving dad to Jill Marie Wagner (Frank Wagner) who he fondly referred to as Jilli-O and Fronoush. Proud grandfather of Zakary, Ryan, Collin and Evan Utley. Dear pup dad to his beagles Carlos ("Lowser") and the late Lily; who he loved and adored beyond measure. Gerry was the best friend of Bonnie Bodenstedt who he loved, cherished and appreciated so greatly. Gerry was born and raised in Lackawanna, NY and he continued to have a passion and interest in his roots there even at age 73. He served military time as part of the US Army during the Vietnam Era and later was employed by Bethlehem Steel in the Blast Furnace. He also spent many years working with the developmentally disabled and was a staunch advocate for their respect. Gerry had hundreds of friends and acquaintances who admired his passion for making people laugh with what became known to many as "Gerryisms". He was incredibly knowledgeable about sports and spent his life following the N. Y. Yankees, Buffalo Sabres and Buffalo Bills. Last and certainly not least- to know Gerry was to know The Beatles. His knowledge of Beatles A- Z was not only incredible, but also admirable. Gerry impacted people's lives in such thought provoking ways and many describe him as having an influence on them grander than anything else they have ever encountered. His "gift to gab" made him entertaining and fun to be around for people of all ages and his grandson's and their friends often stopped by to socialize and chat. Losing him will be something that will be difficult to heal from, but the knowledge that he shared and his infectious advocacy for the underdog will be something that people will carry with them forever. We will miss you "G man", but you will continue to live on through all who you touched and loved. "And in the end...the love you take..is equal to the love you make".
