Gilda Rose Leguori

Age 91, of Amherst entered into rest May 10, 2025. Gilda was born in Brooklyn, NY on February 17, 1934, to Albert and Nancy (nee Morrongiello) Leguori. After high school she became a nun, graduated from Catholic University in Puerto Rico and later worked as a bilingual social worker for the Buffalo Public Schools. Gilda enjoyed painting, traveling and spending time with her friends and family. She is survived by her nieces Kate (Chris) Halley, Stephanie Leguori, Lisa Mancuso and four grandnieces: Corinne LaLonde, Sophia Mancuso, Ava and Emily Berzins. Relatives and friends may visit the LOMBARDO FUNERAL HOME (Northtowns Chapel) 885 Niagara Falls Blvd, Amherst, NY on Wednesday (5/14) from 3-7 PM. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated on Thursday morning May 15, at 9:00 o'clock at St. Leo the Great, 885 Sweet Home Rd., Amherst (please assemble at church). Entombment Holy Sepluchre Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
