Giuliano L. Deganis

February 2, 1949 — January 19, 2024

Giuliano 'Jules' Deganis - February 2,1949 - January 19, 2024 Son of the late Rosa (Campanotto) and Ernesto Deganis, beloved husband of Patricia (Knapp) Deganis, devoted father of Jason, Michael, and Nicholas Deganis. Loving brother of Sergio (Dawn) Deganis and Nancy (Charlie) Deganis-Librera, uncle to Jesse (Kan) Deganis-Librera, Nathan (Rosemary) Deganis-Librera, Marisa Deganis, Mark (Miriam) Deganis, Julianne (Mark) Valerio, and grand nephews. Giuliano was born in Udine, Italy, and immigrated as a child to Buffalo, NY, where he would go on to establish his career and raise his family. He entered into the U.S. Army at age 21 and was stationed in Korea (1969-71). Upon returning from his service, he met his wife, Patricia. Giuliano was a self-taught stained glass artist. He established his own studio, Inlight Art Glass, which was first located on Connecticut Street, and in later years was relocated to 565 Elmwood Avenue. He was affiliated with the Roycrofters-At-Large Association (RALA), where he attained Master Roycroft Craftsman status as deemed by a jury of his peers. He had many commissions over his 37-year career; some of the most notable ones locally are at the Gardeners Cottage at the Frank Lloyd Wright Darwin Martin House and the Roycroft Inn. His works were featured in numerous publications, including Metropolitan Home. He enjoyed various hobbies, including gardening, biking, photography, and others, which he shared with his wife Patricia over their 50-year marriage. The family will be adding pictures and highlights of his life to this site (Lombardo Funeral Home), but in the meantime, they would be comforted by shared memories, pictures of his artwork, or any way in which Jules touched your life. A celebration of life is being planned for the spring, to be announced on Facebook. A Celabration of Life will be held at the Chapel at Forest Lawn Cemetery at 1411 Delaware Ave. Buffalo NY, 14209 on Saturday, April 20th at 10:00am. (Please follow the white line marked on the cemetery road to find your way to the chapel) A Memorial luncheon will be held immediately afterwards, all are welcome.
