Harry Blakowski

Of Lockport, NY, May 8, 2012, Unexpectedly at age 85, formerly of Buffalo, NY; son of the late Walter and Catherine Blakowski; predeceased by nine brothers and sisters; devoted and loving husband of 63 years to Florence (nee Kippes) Blakowski; devoted father of four children, Karen, Richard, Susan and his predeceased eldest son, Thomas; loving grandfather to Molly and Adam; also survived by many nieces and nephews. He was a U.S. Navy Veteran serving during WW II. He held management positions throughout his career at Westinghouse Electric Corp. He also worked in Quality Control and Management at Ethox Corp. Throughout his life, family gatherings were always his first enjoyment and priority. During retirement, he also enjoyed dining throughout the area, worldwide travel, antiques, and vintage car shows. Interment was at Clarence Fillmore Cemetery, with immediate family in attendance. Services were led by Reverend Jerome Kopec of Saints Peter and Paul RC Church, Williamsville, NY. He will be missed tremendously by his family. A memorial mass will be announced at a future date.
