(nee Buja) Of Clarence, entered into rest July 22, 2013, beloved wife of the late Edward Jekielek; devoted mother of John (Darrah) Jekielek, Edward (Dorothy) Jekielek, Deborah (Gregory) Kelly and Paul (Kathryn) Jekielek; cherished grandmother of Joshua (Kristine), Phoebe, Jon Damon, Kyle, Kristin, Olivia, Victoria and Sydney; fond great-grandmother of Andrew, Cora and Ruby; loving daughter of the late Alexander and Josephine Buja; dear sister of Emily (late Martin) Broda and Katherine (late Richard) Hayman; predeceased by two brothers and five sisters; also survived by relatives and friends. No prior visitation. A Memorial Mass will be celebrated at Sisters of St. Joseph Chapel, 4975 Strickler Rd., Clarence on Saturday morning at 11 o'clock. Helen was a veteran of WWII, having served in the WAVES in the medical corps. Helen and her husband, Ed, owned and operated the Northland Grill Restaurant and Bar on Grider St. in Buffalo for over 20 years. She was a life long member of St. Bartholomew's Roman Catholic Church in Buffalo and was an active member of the Parochial School's Mother's Guild. She loved spending time with her family, cooking great food and knitting. She could always be found at family gatherings enjoying the conversation of both old and young. She was avid reader and enjoyed playing bridge with her friends in her later years. She spent 10 happy years of her retirement at the Claremont Apartments in Clarence, NY where she was the treasure of the Resident Association for several years.
