MAHONEY - Helen M. (nee Schichtel) Of Buffalo, entered into rest January 26, 2017, beloved wife of the late Francis V. Mahoney Jr.; devoted mother of James (Diane) Mahoney, Margaret Mahoney, Robert F. (late Barbara) Mahoney and Patrick (Karen) Mahoney, loving daughter of the late William and Sophia Schichtel; dear sister of Coletta (late Gerry) Buchheit, Richard (late Catherine) Schichtel, Agnes (late Jerry) Naughton, the late Mary (late John) Cichon, late Margaret (late Ed) Boyer, late William (late Dorothy) Schichtel, late Ann (late John) Mullen, late Joseph (Mary Ellen) Schichtel, and the late Edmund (late Jeanne) Schichtel; also survived by relatives and friends. Helen was a member of St. Martin's Mother's Club, the Rosary & Altar Society and the Red Hat Society, was a Brownie Troop Leader and a volunteer at Meals on Wheels. She enjoyed knitting, quilting, reading and traveling. Relatives and friends may visit the LOMBARDO FUNERAL HOME, (Southtowns Chapel), 3060 Abbott Rd., near Lake and Willet Ave. on Sunday 3-8 PM. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated in St. Martin of Tours Church, 1140 Abbott Rd., Buffalo on Monday morning at 9:30 o'clock, (please assemble at church). Interment Holy Cross Cemetery.
