MALTBIE - Herbert John Of Amherst, New York, February 1, 2021, passed peacefully in Hospice Care, age 89 years. Dearly loved husband of A. Marie Maltbie (nee Kaiser); devoted father of David (Cathy) Maltbie, Donna (John) McDonald, Daniel (Lisa) Maltbie and Diane (Jon) Zucarelli; adored grandfather of Anna, Nicholas and Brian Maltbie, Tony Maltbie, Amanda (Justin) All, Joseph (Sarah) McDonald, Matthew and Gregory McDonald, Kristin and Nicole Zucarelli; cherished great-grandfather to Ethan McDonald; loving son of the late Julius and Marie Maltbie; dear brother of Maureen (Norman) Weaver and the late Julius (late Frances) Maltbie and the late Roger (late Darlene) Maltbie; survived by many nieces, nephews and cousins. No prior visitation. Arrangements by the LOMBARDO FUNERAL HOME (Northtowns Chapel). A Memorial Mass will be celebrated at a later date. Herbert was an Air Force veteran. He worked at Arcata Graphics as a printer until his retirement in 1994, where after he lived quietly in Amherst, NY with his wife. Herbert enjoyed fishing, bowling and spending time with his family. He lived a full life of 89 years and he was always supportive and loyal to his family, his church and had an unwavering faith in God.
