November 19, 1930 November 22, 2023 Irma was called home to heaven at the age of 93 to be with her loving husband, Joseph. She was born in Kenmore, NY to the late Irma (nee Mitchell) and Franklin Hill. Irma graduated from Mount Saint Marys high school in Kenmore, joined Mercy Hospitals nursing program and graduated as a Registered Nurse in 1951. Irma worked at both Kenmore and Buffalo Mercy Hospitals in what was then called the Premature Birth Baby Nurseries saving countless lives before transferring to the Erie County Health Departments Well Baby Clinics Division. Upon her retirement, Irma worked part-time at her daughters businessRainbow Day Care Center. Irma spent her entire life and career devoted to the health and welfare of babies and children. Irma was predeceased by her loving and devoted husband, Joseph, two of her sons, Timothy and Joseph, her brother David Hill and her sister Barbara (Jos) Montaner. Irma is survived by her son David (Lori) McDermott, daughters Judith (Matthew) Burke, Patricia (Richard) Ortiz, and Margaret (John) Ashe and her dear Jill (Amie Zinzola) Friedman. Irma was the loving and adored grandmother to Theresa (Lindy) Sokolowski, Lauren and Morgan (Bryce Beeman) McDermott; Molly (Andrew) Hamilton, Lindsay (Jacob Klinko) Granich, Meghan (Joseph) Schultz; Nicholas (Carly) Ortiz,Noelle (Noah Wutz) Ortiz; Marrin (Matthew) Streckewald, Brennan Friedman, Mallory and Tierney Ashe. Irma was also the loving aunt to Linda (late Karl) Scherer; Susan (late Joe)Montaner Barr and Paula (Joseph) Malucci. Irma also spent many fun-filled days with her great-grandchildren Grace, Clare, Sophia and Jack Sokolowski; Pierce, Rory, Burke, Reagan, Seamus, Riley, (late Reid) and Padraig Hamilton; Colt Maracle, Jacob, Kennedy, and Quinn Klinko; Ruby Schultz; Brooks Ortiz; Grayson and Finley Streckewald. Relatives and Friends may visit the LOMBARDO FUNERAL HOME (Southtowns Chapel) 3060 Abbott Rd., near Lake Ave. on Sunday, November 26th from 2-7PM, where prayers will be held on Monday, November 27th at 10AM. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Thomas Aquinas Church at 11AM. Interment Holy Cross Cemetery.
