Beloved husband of Catherine (nee DiGiore); devoted father of Marquita Martin, Michele (James) Schroeder, Maria (Mark) Stewart and Roseanne (Michael) Saeli; cherished grandfather of Amanda, Angela, Jamie, Jenna, Erika, Sophia, Olivia, Alexander and Jonathan; loving son of the late Charles and Florence (nee Wolkewicz) Backus; dear brother of Georgette (late John) Romanelli, Patricia (late Joseph) Todaro, Charlene (Anthony) Peters, Charles (Sandra) Backus, Lawrence (Kathleen) Backus and Theodore (Leona) Backus; also survived by relatives and friends. Mr. Backus was an Air Force veteran.
