Janice Jeanette Pope commonly known to some as (Bojay) was born September 7th, 1954, in Richmond Indiana. She was one of 6 children born unto Harold Louis Pope Sr and Wilhelmenia (Pope) Smith. Harold, Wilhelmenia and family moved from Richmond to Buffalo in 1959 in pursuit of a better life. Janice was the 5th child of five siblings Harold Louis Pope Jr, Ellen Levon McCloud, Patricia Ann Dickerson, Debra Marie Dobbs (James Dobbs) and Sandra Louise Cooper. Janice graduated from Bennett High School in Buffalo NY and went on to make a living in various jobs throughout Buffalo. She relocated to New Jersey and resided there for a brief time and eventually made her way back to Buffalo where she worked at Ashleys Furniture store until she left this job permanently disabled due to a car accident and the onset of Chronic COPD. Janice continued struggling with COPD to the very end and departed our world unexpectedly on March 31st, 2024. Janice has transitioned, and leaves to mourn, her mother Wilhelmenia Smith, her brother Harold Pope Jr., sisters Ellen McCloud, Patty Dickerson, Debra/James Dobbs, Sandra Cooper and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts, uncles, in-laws and many, many other relatives and friends.
